POGI (Phil Oz Golf Inc) is a social golf organisation comprised of Filipinos and Australians residing in Campbelltown and its neighbouring suburbs in the south west of Sydney Australia and as far as Thirlmere. On recent time members from Liverpool, Fairfield, Mt Druitt and Rooty Hill have joined POGI. Majority of the members is currently an active member of Campbelltown Golf Club, Macarthur Grange Country Club, RAE Golf Club and various Filipino social golf clubs.

POGI started in late 2007 (Dec 26) during the yearly Boxing Day social golf get together at Tree Valley Golf Course on which 34 players participated the 3 club event. This yearly tournament has been around for 20 years when the Olegario, Caraballo and friends decided to take up the game of golf the day after Christmas day. In mid January’08 the name POGI was suggested by Nelson Montana and immediately officially sanctioned by the members without hesitation.

I am Della Maneze.  I was a medical doctor in our country but I am now embarking on an academic pursuit and hence my enrolment in a PhD program with Curtin University/UTS and UWS.

Friendship Cup 2010

POGIng Ross Sandoval Wins the Interstate Friendship Cup 2010

The recent Interstate Friendship Cup 2010 has been won by POGIng Ross Sandoval. Played over four consecutive days in various golf courses within Manila, Laguna & Tagaytay the tournament started last Tuesday 2 March. POGIng Ross was crowned ‘Overall Champion’ at the end of the fourth round after accumulating his four days result.

12th Knight's Cup 2010

Two of our members have won their division of the 12th Knights Cup Golf Day held today at Fairfield Golf Course.
POGIng Phillipo Taualofai who played his 17 handicap scored 43 Stableford points grabbed the Division A trophy and also took home cash prize. Meanwhile POGIng Laura Marquinez handicap was reduced to 36 and scored 42 Stableford points did not just defended last year ladies title, but again took home the Ladies Division trophy and cash prize.
